Six Weeks Before Move:

  • Call for moving estimates.
  • Call the Chamber Of Commerce and Visitors & Convention Bureau in your new town and get their new resident information packages.
  • Inventory all household items to be moved, and start packing NOW!
  • Remove all items from basement, storage sheds, attics, and plan a garage sale or charity donation for all items you don't want to move.
  • Start using things up that you can't move, like cleaning supplies and frozen food.
  • Discuss tax-related moving expenses, liabilities, and deductions with your tax advisor.
  • Make a list of all people/organizations to contact about change of address.
  • Complete U.S. Postal Service change of address forms and mail them to all applicable publications, stores and organizations.
  • Get copies of (or arrange for transfer at both ends of move) all school, medical, dental, veterinary, legal, and accounting records.
  • Contact insurance agents to transfer or cancel coverage.
  • If it's a company move, check with your employer to find out what moving expenses they cover.
  • Get a mail subscription for the local paper in your new location to familiarize yourself with the new community, its activities and issues.
  • Locate and obtain all automobile licensing and registration information.

Four Weeks Before Move:

  • Get an itemized list of all moving related costs and review with mover, including packing, loading, special charges, insurance, vehicles (if needed), etc.
  • Contact all current and new location utility companies (gas, water, electric, cable TV, phone & trash collection) to set connect/disconnect dates. Remember to keep current utilities hooked up until move day.
  • Make arrangements for relocation of pets and plants.
  • Move valuables to safe deposit box to prevent loss during move.
  • If you are packing yourself, acquire packing materials/boxes and pack items you won't need for the next month.
  • If professional mover is packing your goods, schedule packing day(s) 1 or 2 days before move.
  • Prepare any mowers, snow blowers, boats, snowmobiles (or other vehicles you won't be using before the move) for the move by servicing and draining gas and oil, to prevent a moving van fire.
  • Repair, send out for re-upholstery, or clean furniture, drapes, carpeting as needed.

  • Give away all plants you don't intend to move.
  • If you're moving out of a building with elevators, arrange with management for use of elevators on move day.
  • Schedule for appliance disconnects on moving day or the day before the move, if necessary.

What our clients are saying

I had never bought a house before and Rachel was a great help in leading me through the process and explaining what I needed to do to purchase a home. I highly recommend her to anyone else looking to buy a house or real estate.

~ Gary Bohan

Wilmer did a great job. Did the final walk-through when I was not available and ensured I received all necessary credits. Responded timely to texts, emails, and phone calls.

~ Nate Rich

~ Danielle Fantigrossi

Working with Mr. Caballero over the past few years has been a great experience. Wilmer has always shown the highest levels of professionalism and customer service. His extensive knowledge of the housing market, evaluating the trends ups, and downs associated with essential analytics have translated into a great start for my investment portfolio.

Rachel is a good person and the best realtor! :) I bought a house with her help.

~ Alejandro Chang Alves

I had the pleasure of working with Rachel Caballero when searching for my first house. As nerve wracking as that was, Rachel made it that much easier for me. She was punctual and informative. I didn’t have to worry if something was missing as she was on the ball with everything. It was nice to be able to have someone to rely on when going through such an important change in life, a big change. Thanks so much and if I move again, I am calling you!

~ Stephanie

We had Rachel Caballero as our real estate agent and had the best experience ever. She took the time to show us numerous homes and obtained special information, that was not readily available, quickly. When we finally did decide on the house we wanted, she got all of the loose ends tied up and everything went off without a hitch. Overall I can highly recommend Rachel.

~ Lisa Lamb

"Rachel is a professional, dependable real estate agent. After our initial consultation we were confident that she would be able to sell our home. She was honest and made good recommendations for getting our house ready for sale. Rachel went above and beyond in bringing in people to view the house, always giving notice and consideration for our schedules. She was quick to give feedback from the open house viewings and private showings. She gave good advice toward the brokering of the offer we chose to accept. I would highly recommend Rachel for selling your home. She put a significant amount of time and energy into bringing through many people for our home showings. She was dedicated to selling our home and we were able to accept an offer in just under one month on the market.
